Peacock - Dublin

My fiancé and I had a wonderful meal in the restaurant last night. We were so impressed with everything delicious food, the decor, ambience and the impeccable service. We will definitely be back and will be recommending to our friends. Thank you so much

The peacock restaurant is part of the finnstown castle hotel. Like the hotel it has a very warm atmosphere within an historical site. The decor matches the res6 of the premises. We had dinner on 3 occasions, with a similar 3xperience each time. The service is perfec5. The food was consistently of high quality. The wine list offers a wide range of quality and prices. Very nice experience. I would recommend it

Used it for breakfast only which was typical Irish fare with plenty of bacon sausages, eggs and black pudding. Buffet self service and no egg station. Just average.

We had lunch at the hotel to use part of our discount on a living social voucher. The lunch menu is a little pricey in my opinion for the quality. I had a smoked salmon starter which was nice but some of the side salad a bit odd. For main course I had the roast turkey which was pretty decent. Service was OK the waiter seemed a little bit caught off guard by the mention of our voucher and was pulling faces which is always off putting. The dining room feels overly 'fancy ' but in an outdated sense. I feel like a little bit of updated decor would really improve the feel of the restaurant.

We ate here for 2 nights during a recent stay at the hotel. The food was absolutely devine. I would even go so far as to say its the best food I've had for some time. We chose from the festive menu. My particular favourite was the braised venison starter. I would also highly recommend the duck mains. At €45 per person for 4 courses it was a fair price. The portions were more than adequate. The service was very efficient, if not too efficient. Personally I would have preferred a few minutes more between courses but that was minor. Overall I would recommended the restaurant and would be delighted to return at a later date.
