Subway - Dowagiac

This is the worst subway restaurant I have ever been to. The person handling the food was not careful and contaminated the ingredients. The tuna was mixed into the guacamole and the meat was thrown away and put back into the sandwich. When I asked for no tuna, I was met with hostility. The cashier seemed sick and didn't change her gloves or wash her hands. I will never understand why the staff was so rude and unhygienic.

On both Friday and Saturday evenings in June 2022, the restaurant was closed. There was no sign on the door indicating the closure, so we were disappointed to find it closed when we arrived.

Every few years, I attempt to give this restaurant another chance. This time, however, will be my last. My spicy Italian sandwich was overloaded with 5 tomatoes, 6 jalapeños, and 8 pounds of Chipotle sauce. It was so bad that I felt sick when I got home. I tried to salvage it by removing some of the sauce, but it tasted like a subpar Subway sandwich. Next time, please have the sandwich artist turn in a circle five times before making my sandwich. At least have some fun with it, knowing that it is barely edible.

The restaurant is not open all day. The food is rated 4 out of 5, service is rated 3 out of 5, and the atmosphere is rated 3 out of 5.

We were disappointed with the change in menu substitutions at this restaurant. However, the oven-roasted chicken breast sandwich was exactly what we were looking for. We were able to customize our sandwiches with the ingredients we wanted, and everything tasted fresh. The service provided by the staff was excellent. Overall, it was a good experience for a takeout lunch, with prices ranging from $1 to $10 per person.
