Butterfield's Ice Cream

Large homemade ice cream served with a smile. a local foundation; my mother worked here in the 50s, and they are still strong. I always feel good at supporting a local small business and should.

I've tried a number of their flavors of ice cream and found them all to be good. Well worth the trip.

Butterfield's is a landmark in Dover-Foxcroft, and of course we had to stop here for lunch. Fortunately, there wasn't a line, but we waited at least 20 minutes for our food. The lobster roll was decent, although nothing beats the Red Barn (sorry), and my partner had a HoundDog, which is a deep-fried hotdog wrapped in bacon with minced onions and cheese! Now this looked amazing and my partner loved it!! Thanks for the great lunch Butterfield's! I am sure we'll see you again!

The best ice cream anywhere in the world. Hands down. No contest. Love it.

The best ice cream we've ever tasted! It's amazing! The only downside is that it's a 4-hour drive from where we live, and I think about it all the time! All the flavors are incredible, and I've never had ice cream like this anywhere else!
