The short synopsis: this restaurant takes a beautiful place directly at the marketplace. the kaesespaetzle is ingenious, with stains of swirl throughout. it is a hearty part. we took friends once, and they offered schnitzelburgers at the time. this is a nice, unique dish that American visitors find to be pretty cool. in the interior is small as many German restaurants, so they are easy in people / chairs. the worst place to sit is in the bar area on the main level where the staff always passes. in the cellar is more seating and a fully equipped bar- it is the most charming opposite of the restaurant. it's a little dark, but nice. the access from the outside is through a tiny, charming arched door and the steps down.
Since our last visit is a year past, and this time we had only breakfast, although two days in order. it is always a pleasure to come back to the mephisto. love eating there, love that they are flexible and really friendly, dear. that everything is so relaxed, the omelette had so delicious. large portions. wish, we also had the time to feed there.
The environment is so relaxing in the memphisto outside, with views of the old market place or inside. the staff is very attentive and friendly, they know most of their regular guests. the choices for breakfast/breakfast are really rich and flexible. we have eaten here several times and love it at any time of day. the quality of food is impeccable and the portions enormous. if you want to have a relaxed place, friendly staff and really good food, they come here!
In order to get to The Mephisto, you have to know where it is located, it's not something you could easily recognize from the street, in fact, it's more of a back alley not visible from the street type of place. But, don't let that...scare you off just yet! The Mephisto has amazingly awesome food, huge portions and a great variety. It's a great place for dinner and drinks. It was so good, I ate here two consecutive days! You can also enjoy a glass of Apfelwein, it's one of those sneaky drinks... you don't know how intoxicating it is, until you stand up. The atmosphere if wonderful! Dieberg is pretty much a college town, but you couldn't tell fromt the patrons of the restaraunt. On the two nights I was there, I was the youngest [at 25] enoying the food. If I am every lucky enough to visit Dieberg again, I will most assuredly be dining here again!
