I was excited to by the idea of bacon jam and guava bbq sauce. The presentation looked great. Brioche bun was perfectly toasted, not soggy. Chicken was cooked amazingly (crispy yet juicy), but my biggest hang up is the sauce. It is so powerful and so tangy, it’s all i could taste. I wanted a more well balanced sandwich where all the ingredients could shine together. The plantains i ordered with it were perfect: crispy edges with a soft and sweet inside.
It was the best cauliflower and Brussel Sprouts ever! Deelicious!...the associates were nice and had no problem helping us to understand the menu. I thought the wings were to die for. I loved the little oranges and the varied taste within the seasoning. The plaintains were grilled perfectly. I was very satisfied. It was wonderful! Every time, I took a bite of my cauliflower.I groaned in pleasure. My boyfriend, who is a barbecue aficionado, said, They pour the sauce on it instead of cooking it on the wings. I said So maybe that 's how they want to do it....and rolled my eyes at him,
This is like, not even close to Caribbean food. I dont even think its a fusion…. I think its american food with a tiny little bit of Caribbean influence. Beef patty was fried at too low a temperature so it soaked up all the oil. I’ve had better beef patties from the Dollar Store freezer section, seriously, Golden Krisp is wayy more worth it and 1/5 of the price. So disappointing. Food also took forever, it’s like the chef who created it has zero involvement or care for the establishment.
OMG!!! I found this place online because I was in the hospital craving caribbean food and I came across them. I placed an order for the side of corn on the cob and also french fries with the cilantro and cheese they have and I'm telling you!!!! Once that food hit my tastebuds I fell in love!!! Everything was so delicious and I had tasted flavors I had never had before, let alone, together!!! For weeks, I thought nothing but ordering out from this restaurant again and SOON, LOL!!! I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant to any and all who have a taste for island flavor and something different that you may not have often!!!! ENJOY!!!!
Located inside the Detroit Shipping company! Loved this place! I've never had Caribbean food before now and I want more after having had food from here: For an appetizer we had the Caribbean Corn $8 . Which was two grilled corn-on-the-cobs topped with fresco cheese, Cajun seasoning, toasted coconut, and drizzled with a garlic aioli! Loved the crunch of the corn and sweet and savory notes to this flavorful dish. My boyfriend ordered the Chicken Fritters $15 as his entree which was a few pieces of breaded chicken on a bed of coleslaw and topped with fresco cheese, garlic aioli, bbq sauce, and cilantro!he loved the flavor and ate it all : I ordered the Coconut Shrimp Curry $18 . Which was a bit steep in price if I'm being honest but had about 5-6 pieces of shrimp in a delicious curry sauce topped with fresco cheese and cilantro.. it also came with some rice which was very good paired with the shrimp. After you order your food at the counter they hand you a buzzer. Our buzzer went off and their was a bit of confusion as the lady at the counter said our order was lost and they had to remake it. Once remade they missed some items and had to give us our buzzer again. There was a bit of attitude from the person there but as it was a Friday night and very busy I was trying to be nice and understanding and still enjoyed my food very much. The seating situation is a first come first serve kinda vibe and it was very busy on a Friday night and we eventually found seats on the second floor.Would definitely come back here again if I was in town!
