I like the calabacitas burrito or enchiladas (basically fajita veggies). Kiddos' menu has several choices that our kids love. We always leave this place very happy that we came.
Wasn't planning to give Salty Rita's a try based on negative Google reviews, but was in Lowry for the evening and really wanted a margarita I'm so glad we did! Despite it being Wine Walk so very busy on Saturday evening, we had attentive service and very good food. Margaritas were excellent and a good size; tacos were delicious and the accompanying beans and rice tasty. The fajita wrap, which they made clear was not a traditional platter of sizzling fajitas, was also very good. For basic TexMex, we would definitely go there again.
As a tex mexxer I lower my expections of personal satisfaction when I dine colo mex. not here. I am good. ryan the server was perfect in my mind mainly because I have a pet peave when a server yanks plates or even asks about my partially consumed ones. and he did neither! the food we got was excellent. clean, fresh, good portioned. creative. the orange rice and black beans are as tasty as they are colorful. the three cup chips and dip appetizer was great and white goat cheese to my surprise makes awesome queso. those thicker but somehow still light on the stomach chips are simply the best. there is none like those for sale at the grocery that I am aware of. the kids menu rocked the basics with all the freshness and flavor needed. my iced tea seemed strong not watered and that is my preference. good and brown. I had a big chicken quesadilla with of course grilled meat and just the right amount of peppers inside. and not too much cheese which I agree is at times a tex mex error. the wife and mom in law's grilled chicken enchiladas were excellent with verde and drizzled goat cheese. they cut easily with a fork. personally, I would have preferred a rojo sauce (im assuming that was an option) so in some ways I'm off on this beat. fountains for the kids outside in summer, bring towels.
I have lived in Texas for 40 years and I know good tex mex. I have been to other places in town and they are not as good as this place. Get the trio dip. Their queso is delicious. I had the rellenos and they were great. Will definitely be back.
