Manpuku Japanese Yakiniku Grill

I miss the old menu. I was surprised to see that the menu had changed. I likely won’t return based on the new menu and prices.

When buying the dinner for two $80 each person) they were out of a few starters/appetizers and had to settle for what was left. Also only had soft serve vanilla ice cream for dessert when menu said you had choices. Meat was 50/50 half was tender and others not so much. I wanted to like this place, but ended up being very disappointing. It also wasn’t busy which was a good thing. But this is a 2 out of 5 for me.

We were seated 90 minutes after our reservation time because they were busy. Two in our party of six were seated at a neighboring table where the food burner to cook the meats didn’t work. Our food arrived out of order, and took a very long time. The kitchen was out of sync with coursing our food. Food was good, if overpriced. Restaurant was loud and very brightly lit. Won’t be back.

This restaurant is the definition of unmet expectations. We had the signature tasting and the best thing on the menu was the green salad. Everything else was either bland over cooked or flavorless. The ice cream was so absurdly sweet it almost hurt to eat. The only redeeming thing about dinner was our server she was bright and helpful. For 120$ per person. It’s a waste of time and money.

This was not worth the money. It was at best worth a quarter of what we paid for. The food was over seasoned and way too sugary. The Japanese A5 waygu that we paid extra for was drenched in pepper. The server was MIA most of the time. She didn’t speak up enough for us to even hear what she was saying. I’ve never been more disappointed by a meal in my life.
