Fall in point, I often go here for buckwheat because WF's Bulk buckwheat is often a little green, not the ripe brown color that it should be. They have a wide range of mass products of herbs, spices, teas, candy, cereals etc. You can easily go to the city with all their large selections and then get a surprise when you get to the counter (I have 3 or 4 items and I am up to $50? . They are mostly knowledgeable, but not always super friendly. I'd rather go to the peasant market, WF or TJ.
Pretty good! The prices are fair. I prefer the vegan options at Whole Foods I think, but central market has a great salad bar at this location.
The most amazing market I have seen coast to coast. Most varieties of produce, coffee, olives, potatoes, everything. Juices, ice cream, chocolate, bulk section, sushi. 5 dollar smoothies bar. Fresh ground nut butters.
There pre-made foods to-go. You will find vegan options. Just ask. Also their salad bar or sandwich shop also offers vegan options. I’m frozen food section you’ll find vegan tamales, burgers, etc. The product section is the best! They carry the best fruits and vegetables.
I'm surprised to see the low ratings of Central Market on here. There's a lot of vegan options here not to mention their huge, beautiful produce section. There's a whole wall dedicated to different types of apples. There's a buy by bulk seasonings section. Every type of seasoning you could imagine. Great place to get your nutritional yeast (also in the bulk section). Great place for nuts. If you're into vegan eggs, sprouted grain bread/tortillas, daiya products, vegan burgers, vegan desserts, kombucha... um... healthy stuff this is a Mecca for it. Plus it's fun to just explore.
