Our waiter was helpful to explain which dishes would work for the vegetarians....We all ordered Tlayudas sencillo, naturally vegetarian, and Chipotle Camarones. While we've never had Tlayudas, I'm sure there's better than that. They seemed to be thrown together in some kind of taste (and also physically they fell apart and since we had no utensils that made them hard to eat). The tortillas have hard and hard to chew. None of us stopped our food. I would say that the drinks were good, especially the hibiscus of my husband Oaxacan red ale and the horchata of my son.
We came here on a friend's recommendation to try authentic Oaxacan food. We had lunch special that included a soup starter (we tried and loved the Grashopper soup), a main (we tried the Tlayudas...I preferred the pig with Enchilada), a...drink (horchata) and finished with Café de olla (Cimt coffee). Everything was absolutely amazing and tasteful, and a great value. So much that we continued order, and tried the Mezcal, cheesecake and queso with chorizo as well. The owner was incredibly friendly, friendly and helpful. We wouldn't have asked for a better first meal in Mexico City!
I love this cozy place, you’ll have a warm welcome from the owners!!! If you’re into authentic Mexican food, this place is a must. It brings the flavor from Oaxaca state. Be careful with the salsas, if you have respect for your mouth! What I...always love to have, if you’re really hungry: Starter: Queso asado en hoja santa (fresh cheese with sacred leave) Soup: frijoles de la olla (Mexican beans) Main course: Tlayuda especial (Mexican tlayuda with chorizo, crickets, meat, Oaxaca string cheese) Beverage: agua de horchata and or any artesanal bear (honey ale my fave), also a mezcal (pechuga) Desert: cheesecake with rosita de cacao If you like hot peppers: Chile de agua Great place!!!!!
A great place to go for a casual meal or a take-away. The normal size Tlayudas are excellent value, huge and tasty. The Tlayudas here (softer and folded over) are different from those I 've had in Oaxaca, but they are a treat in their own...right. For celiacs, I 've found that the Tlayudas are gluten free (at least the vegetarian and tasajo which are my go-tos), but the salsas often have Knorr in them, so best to check or bring your own salsa. The tasajo in the tlayuda is way saltier than I 'd like, but it doesn 't keep me from coming back for it again and again.
El sabor de la comida es muy bueno, sin embargo la atención de las meseras es algo despistado, por no decir descortés. Olvidan tu pedido y cuando logran acordarse te llevan de mala gana.
