Cute, cozy, good food, acceptable prices, the amount of food is moderate, everything was very good except for the service. The guy serving at the counter was very distracted with his phone which made him uncomfortable several times since the other guy (waiter) was busy with the other tables. Overall good place.
Cafe Polonia is the only Polish Cafe I have ever been to, and I came for the pickle soup ? s are known for eating pickles ? and drinking pickle juice to get the high salt diet we need).I fell in love with their Hungarian Goulash!Everything is pricy: $15 for a Zapiekanka: a French baguette with some sautéed mushrooms ? , Gouda ? , and ketchup is steep and I scraped the ketchup off).I am glad this cafe exists, as I got to try Polish food without even hopping on a plane, but I wouldn’t come regularly due to price. The ambiance is incredible: carved stone walls, real wood everything, and homey kitchen utensils hanging from the walls. The kitchen sounds drove me out earlier than I’d like I did not finish my food). I couldn’t handle the incessant banging of the chopping, chopping, chopping if you, like me, struggle with sensory issues, know that even my noise canceling headphones could not drown it out, as the noise is loud and the space is small). I was sad because prior to the chopping, I was enjoying the light conversation and happy music.Be very careful leaning forward on the chairs as they tip quite easily! I nearly fell!I would order to go if I came again.Parking is limited out front, but there is one handicap spot at the end of the block. Public transit is easy too.No stairs, but a significant lip when you enter the front door, and some of the tables are too close together to fit an assistive device. The toilet is not automatic but is easy to flush. Also, that is sour cream by the Pierogies ? , not whipped creams.
Amazing Polish food. Everything was fresh and home made. Tried the Kielbasa, pierogi, and cabagge roll. Everything was excellent. The place feels very authentic.
Loved it. Had the Polish plate and the Sobieski Cutlet. Jake was super accommodating and did his best despite being understaffed and overwhelmed.
