We shared Chicken Strips, Chicken Wings, and a Cup of Chili. Everything was surprisingly really good and service was great. That buffalo sauce though...sure has a nice kick to it!!!
Stopped by here with my husband right before going into Crater Lake National Forest because my husband wanted to get a cup of coffee since he was tired. This place is both a restaurant and a gift shop. Through the gift shop side (left right when you enter the building) are clean restrooms (I personally think the restrooms here are better than the ones in the national forest, especially the bathroom sinks where you can get nice warm water to wash your hands... in the national forest, the water is either scorching hot or icy cold). My husband ordered a small cup of coffee for about $2.85, which seemed average (but could be cheaper). I ended up purchasing a few items at the gift shop for family back home. Parking seems limited out in the front, but there are more parking in the back. This place is pretty easy to get to from the road. Overall, an okay place to shop for souvenirs and perhaps to pick up a little bit of food before heading out to the national forest.
Honestly for being one of two real dining options within the national park, this place isn't too bad in terms of cost or quality. We ate two meals here on our trip, one breakfast and one late lunch early dinner. For breakfast the pancakes are definitely not the best and I think they use powdered eggs, but the serving sizes are better than I was expecting and the cost wasn't that far off the mark for food outside the park. For lunch dinner, there are plenty of vegetarian options and the food is both decent and reasonably priced. If this were outside the park I wouldn't go out of my way to get to it, but for in-park dining this is pretty solid.
Lodging food is simply lodging food. What more can you expect? I came into Annie Creek restaurant in Crater Lake National Park with very low expectations and they were met on the dot. This restaurant has your typical lodging style food. They have your sandwiches, burgers, pastas, and seafood all pretty subpar and pricy. I was a bit torn on what to order. steak was very tempting (haven't tried Oregon steak), and the fish of the day seemed like a catch. But since the fish of the day wasn't local, I settled for the pot roast (wanted vegetables). Two of my friends ordered the sandwich, and one of my friends ordered the pasta. Food came out fast and it was definitely underwhelming. First of all, the vegetables were overcooked and very soggy. I felt like I was eating canned vegetables. The pot roast was a bit better (soggy, a bit lukewarm, and not too flavorful), but it didn't redeem the entire plate nor justify what I paid (about $16). The saving grace was probably the habenero sauce that gave some spice. The service was pretty meh people weren't mean although I felt like we were just left alone (which is fine). Our server smelled like cigarettes, which I really don't enjoy. Overall, lodging food may only be your only option and I guess Annie Creek will probably suffice. If you have camping food, that is a better alternative. Eat well and prosper,
We went there for dinner a few days ago. The pot roast and the cheeseburger were both great! Very nice food after a whole day at Crater Lake. Another bonus point is that you get to see a lot of stars in the dark sky after dinner!
