Driftwood Cafe at Akuna Bay

Had the barramundi burger. I've had a better fillet O fish at McDonald, for less than $30!! The flat white was milky as, hardly any coffee. 10% surcharge on Saturday?!?!? Why? Views are nice and it's quiet but this eatery really needs to lift its game. Disappointing

This is a cafe and you get cafe food. However it was tasty and fresh. Burger was a bit dry asd we didn't want mayo and they didn't add butter or ask if we wanted another sauce. It wasnt busy but we did wait a while for our meal (just 2 of us). It is so lovely and quiet here which is wonderful but not cheap when you add the $12 fee to get into the national park. However if you are heading here for the day it's not a bad meal given that they kind of have a monopoly!

Pretty much inattentive staff serving. I ordered something pretty simple while looking right at the service person (a small black coffee). I waited about 15 minutes in the queue of 3 people that didn't order much. That cost $4.95 - $2 more that the Sydney CBD. A bit taken aback at the price but oh well... I got a large weak coffee that just annoyed me. I guess that's the problem with these remote place with no competition - no need to try.

My friend and cycle on average once a week to Akuna Bay. The obvious stopping point for refreshments is the Driftwood Cafe. Sadly though we find the coffee disappointing. We give it a go about every three months. A few weeks ago, the cake was excellent, but sadly again the coffee wasn't. Can I suggest the owner goes and compares their coffee with other coffee providers in Church Point, Bayview and Mona Vale? If they could improve their coffee, they'd attract far more cycling business. My husband's group of cyclists would go there on Sundays for a start. As the coffee here is more expensive for two than we normally pay (around $11 vis a vis $8.50), it needs to perform!

We dont normally stop here for coffee and cake however on the occasions we do, the staff are very friendly, efficient and always serve good coffee. Coffee price is above average..
