Sunday Dinners Soul Food - Corona

This was our first visit, and we had a great experience. The service was professional, and the food was excellent. The mac and cheese was outstanding, just like the cabbage. The only downside was that the dining room felt a bit outdated and could use better seating.

I hope we don't get sick after this experience. Where do I even begin? While I appreciate wanting to support my local community after finally opening this restaurant, it might be better off closed. They were actually selling Kool-Aid while the cashiers were sitting in the back room eating Popeyes next to us. My companion ordered the Wels lunch and received one, yes just one, piece of fish that was undercooked. I had the meat loaf, which was decent, but the greens were unappetizing. We even had gnats landing on our table while we were trying to eat. The floor was sticky and the tables were dirty, making for an overall unpleasant environment. It's simply a bad place, and we won't be going back. It's disappointing that cleanliness and customer service seem to be lacking. Instead of the owner taking feedback to improve her business, she responded with a sarcastic and insincere apology. Is this really the attitude of a so-called expert?

We are strong advocates for supporting local family-run establishments, and this restaurant is a wonderful example of one. The entire family contributed to creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. We ordered the fried chicken and catfish, and there are plenty of side options available. We chose the greens and macaroni and cheese, and each plate also includes cornbread! We can’t wait to explore more of the delicious offerings on their menu.

Absolute perfection! It's just good at home cooking. It's 100% comfort food and I'm here for it! I also forgive them that I take myself from 1st place for Macaroni and cheese in my little son's rankings: Customer service was perfect. There were no forced pitches or placements. I really enjoyed my visit here and I can't wait to go back. Every penny worth it.

My buddy and I ordered separate Sunday dinner to get a flavor of the full menu. It was amazing all the selections we got. You must try the turkey, collard greens and sweet potatoes. The servings are very generous and the family are very friendly and welcoming. Feels and sounds like Mama's kitchen. Be ware the place is very hot inside. No AC was on the day we visited. But it's worth a little heat.
