Our room was spacious with an ensuite bathroom, although the lock was a bit old-fashioned. The room had a large bed, sofa, desk, TV, mini fridge, fan, tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer, and wardrobe. The bathroom was a good size and had a bath/shower combo, as well as small toiletries. The only downside was the cleanliness, with a few dead flies and cobwebs. We opted for the breakfast option for an extra £20 and were not disappointed. The cooked breakfast was delicious, with locally sourced meat. Continental options and cereal were also available. We also dined in the hotel one evening and were impressed by the variety and quality of the food. Overall, I highly recommend The Royal Inn Par and would stay here again when in Cornwall.
The Hunter's Chicken was delicious. The atmosphere had good music and the staff was very friendly and helpful. There were many different beers to choose from. I ordered a pint of Madrid.
I went for dinner as I had a lovely lunch earlier that day. Sadly dinner was a dissappointment. My 'special ' meal was advertised with 'new potatoes and seasonal veg '. But what came was what I call winter veg carrots, cauli, swede and reheated new potatoes. Not a green in sight. The food wasnt bad, but it was bland and tastless. So it was not as described.
We have just stayed for a week here, room service was good very friendly people. It's central for visiting Eden Hegelian's gardens with a train station opposite, lovely beach good fish chips plus a couple of shops.
