We won’t support a business that refuses to accept cash. Staff were pleasant enough but despite being an extremely quiet night, there was no effort to make any conversation a proper village pub requires staff to make the effort to at least have a quick conversation, that makes the difference between a pub and a gastro pub/restaurant. Food was ok, nothing special. Didn’t seem very clean in the pub either, everything was sticky and no attention to detail with the cleaning (or lack of). Hopefully we just caught them on a bad night, but won’t be going back again.
On an early evening walk, dropped in for a break, really welcoming, persuaded to stop for food, nice pub grub and the beer was excellent, locals friendly!
I telephoned the New Inn on Saturday evening to book a table and the bar manager went out of way to rearrange tables and fit us in for Sunday lunch. We received a warm welcome and a prompt service. The food was excellent. The meat in the Sunday roast was tender and the portions were generous. One of our family chose a vegetarian option of the sweetcorn fritters and they were crisp and tasty. The desserts were 'out of this world ' especially the homemade cheesecake. We have not visited the New Inn before even though we live close by, but can strongly recommend it. It was excellent value for money and the Inn definitely had an 'old world ' charm to it. We will certainly be returning and will be telling all our friends about it as well. Thank you to all the staff, a wonderful experience
Excellent and quick friendly service, nothing was to much trouble. As it was Friday night the pub was quite busy with locals and holidaymakers so there was a noisy but happy atmosphere. Food came promptly (fish, chips peas) all good, followed by apple crumble with clotted cream which again was good.
Stopped off at the New Inn part way through our circular walk around Nare Head and were given a warm welcome and enjoyed good beer Didn’t eat but the menu looked interesting and reasonably priced Next time we will definitely eat
