Spicy Joi’s Banh Mi Lao Street Food

Foods are good, taste is authentic. I would recommend to anyone who loves Thai, Laos, Vietnamese foods.

Best banh mi I have ever had. And I have had them from some of the legendary spots in San Jose for 17 years. Crusty bread on the outside, warm 'n soft on the inside. Vegetables marinated to perfection and super cold, contrasted with the meat which waslikewise perfectly marinated and temperature hot. See the pics I attached. I ordered Xtra meat for a small charge. Well worthit. I 've had both the BBQ pork sandwich and the chicken. I can 't say one was better than the other, so next time I 'm getting ahalf of each banh mi mixed together. I asked for a soy sauce to douse it and they gave me a nice bottle with dispenser topinstead of a plastic packet. Restaurant is impeccably clean, incl what I would describe as luxury hotel restrooms and sinks. And the employees are beyond super polite. The shiz!

The BBQ Chicken Banh Mi was amazing. It was very flavorful with a crunchy outside and soft inside. The chicken had a lot of flavor and the vegetables were fresh. My only complaint is that I wish there was more of that delicious chicken. I would rate it a 9.5 out of 10. The Lemongrass Chicken was also good, but a bit salty. I would give it an 8 out of 10. The Banh Mi sandwiches were on the smaller side, so I would recommend getting two if you're very hungry. I will definitely be stopping by again when I'm in town. Yum!

The Kua Kee Mao Drunken Noodles were delicious! I just wished there were more noodles but they were still very tasty and spicy (I ordered "spicy"). There was a good amount of vegetables and eggs. My husband really enjoyed both the Lao Sausage Banh Mi and the BBQ Chicken Banh Mi. He said they were both excellent! We will definitely be ordering again.

Yesterday was great, so I returned today for another meal but it wasn't as good. Also, they didn't cut it in half like I asked. Hopefully next time will be better.
