My son always has a great time here. The staff in the children's area are consistently helpful, welcoming, and friendly.

This place is a paradise for book lovers! If you haven't been to the Richland Library (main location), you're truly missing out. The library has recently undergone renovations and boasts four fantastic floors. There's even an entire floor dedicated to children, complete with a separate lounge area for teens. Within this vast, literature-themed environment, you'll find giant board games, shadow rooms, and dollhouses nestled among actual trees (yes, they grow indoors!). There are plenty of seating options to fit your needs, whether you want to relax on floor cushions, have discussions in cozy booths, or utilize the homework station for serious studying. With an extensive array of materials, including books, videos, audiobooks, portable MP3 books, and mini DVD players, there's something for even the most reluctant readers. The best part? It's all free! As a mother of four, we visit every week and even more frequently during the summer.

A true gem in downtown Columbia! This library is both engaging and innovative. To be honest, I don’t think Columbia fully appreciates it, but it really is a fantastic asset to the community. The children's area on the lower level is amazing, featuring creative activities and beautiful decorations. The staff is exceptional, just as you would hope to find. My family loves this library, and I’ve been visiting for decades.

Everyone was always helpful and I enjoyed the Adult Mystery Club that met on Saturday's. Both ladies made you feel welcome.

Ideal for children. The negative floor is the entire area for children. The layout is reasonable, the space is spacious, and the lighting effect is very good! Service attitude is good! Rich books!
