Three appetizers flat bread, meatballs, Calamari. Two of three were great. Calamari was disappointing. The entrances were the perfect size and served cakes hot. Drinks and desserts were the top notches. Prices very reasonable. This place is certainly a redo.
Paolo?s Italian kitchen in college station was exactly what I was looking for when it comes to Italian cuisine. I ordered the salmon piccata and loved him. Paolo?s was busy this night, so I called and got reservations before. we ordered the steak and the Arugula flat leaf as an appetizer and the truffle to dessert. strange view into the restaurant as if it might be connected to the hilton once, but besides the view it was good to eat!
In the city for a work conference so decided to try it based on the good reviews. The decor was strange. Very dark inside with hardly any decor. Tables had nothing but a black tablecloth on them. It took a bit until we were greeted by a waiter. I ordered Chicken Alfredo and asked if they could add Broccoli. I thought there was an extra fee and I was fine with it. The portion size was rather small for the price. The waiter asked if we wanted cheese on our meal and continued to keep it so high over our plates that he made not only our meals with cheese, but also the table available. Our table looked like the children's table when he was ready. Then I noticed that my meal didn't even have chickens. The waiter takes my plate, bring him back, and here we go back to the new plate with another cheesefiasco. The Alfredo sauce was like soup. No thickness or consistency. Every bite splashed new drops on my black shirt and when I was done, I looked like one of the children at the children's table! I talked to the girl on the front. Your answer, the price is in the menu....I'm going to sit, our waiter comes to the table and I'm addressing him. His answer. the price is in the menu. Then he sends the manager over... his answer... well the price is in the menu. Good Lord! Apparently they have received this compliant before, because everyone went to auto pilot as if they were read from a script! I apologise not to check the price of one side of broccoli before the order, but my goodness, I together with 90% of most people would 't suspect that it is the cost of a small appetizer!...????
It was a wonderful time for myself, my girlfriend, and our friend. The food was phenomenal. The only issue I had was, portion size. The chicken parmesan had a nice amount of chicken, but lacked a bit on the spaghetti. I would definitely go again though
Food is good. Atmosphere not so much. For the price I'd prefer to spend my money elsewhere. We went here to celebrate my daughter getting her license after hearing many great things. We got really dressed up and to say we were disappointed is an understatement. The building needs a refresh for sure. As soon as we walked in the smell of mildew hit us and we immediately knew we made a mistake. Our service seemed to be on the level I'd expect from a regular casual restaurant. Our table was extremely wobbly and when I went to fix it, there was already a napkin under there which to me means they knew this table was defective but chose to leave it, while I was investigating the napkin the very helpful bus boy came over and proceeded to place another napkin under the leg, again confirming that they know the table is no good. I had my expensive cocktail spill everywhere because of the table. These issues among a few others really made us scratch our heads as to why so many people rave about this establishment. My suggestion is to go for some ok decent food but don't expect much as far as an experience. Maybe they were just having an off night but that was our experience.
