Coast - Coffs Harbour

This pub was actually pretty cool. In fact it was one of the better pubs in Coffs Harbour. Maybe it had something to do with the beers on tap, but then again nice beers on tap is always going to grab my attention. Actually, come to think of it, maybe it was the really cool beer garden, and the pool tables out the back. That is also going to grab my attention, and grab my attention big time. Yeah, I liked this place.

Really tasty food and excellent service in the restaurant and the bar my wife enjoyed the cocktails too.

Probably one of the best pubs I've been too. The restaurant was one of the nicest I've seen. Very modern and well laid out. The menu was simple and not over the top with choice. I chose the classic schnitzel with gravy, chips and salad. We were the only ones in the place which meant we got our food rather quickly. My first reaction was that the salad looked a bit small but that could have been due to the enormous schnitzel!... I however then found some of my salad hiding underneath. The food was quite delicious, the gravy was perfect and the schnitzel was spot on with gravy absorbing into the crumbs *insert drooling noise*. The salad made the perfect side and my only very small gripe would be that the dressing was mainly oil. A tad more vinegar would have made it the perfect schnitzel meal. Definitely recommend everyone to stop by here.

Classic pub food done well. My partner said his chicken schnitzel was one of the better ones he has had. My Cajun shoestring calamari was well done too. The crumb coating was deliciously crispy but needed more Cajun. The mango aioli sounded nicely tropical and an interesting twist but it too was lacking that different flavour. The dining area is the nicest I've seen in a pub. The wall length seating, paintings and accessories give it a modern beach styling. I also love places where you can squeeze your BBQ or tomato sauce into a little cup just for you. I'm not one for sharing! The pub was dead though. My partner and I were the only ones eating at 1:30pm on a Saturday which I don't think is late and lunch didn't close until 2:30pm. On the plus side we got our meals 10 minutes tops after ordering.

The food was truly delicious and the service was excellent at this restaurant and bar. My wife also loved the cocktails.
