The Crazy Crab Jarvis Creek

I heard big things about this place, so my expectations were pretty high. Happy to share that they not only fulfilled my expectations, but exceeded them. Booked too early and was still sitting immediately. Great table right against the window overlooking the low land and the water. We were immediately greeted by our waitress Beth. Extremely professional, efficient and so very friendly, this is how great service is done. The drinks ordered and they came right away. Then we were brought a basket of freshly made Hush puppies that were as good as they come: slightly crunchy on the outside, fluffy on the inside with exactly the right amount of gum. Beth then gave us the start in the menu and made some great recommendations. We asked about that? You Crab? Soup, she ran into the kitchen and brought us a taste, it was really good, thick, hot, creamy with a lot of fresh Crab. We ordered the Snow Crab appetizer serving with real melted butter, super fresh and tasty. Then tried a bowl of gumbo, really hot, as soup should be served. Soup was really good with a lot of taste, a lot of sausage too. For our net we ordered a local favorite Shrimp and Grits we never had before. We really enjoyed it, but warn, super hard. Shrimps were fresh and delicious served over the well prepared and creamy grits. I had freshly steamed Maine Lobster, which was beautifully served with fresh Corn, Red Potatoes and more Shrimp. Super delicious, great atmosphere and wonderful service. Location is directly on the brook and there are tons of seating. Loved the Ahi tuna nachos and the wedge salad was delicious. Great portions and super fast service. Great place for a book, but overall enjoyed everything and strongly recommend!

That's a nice restaurant. Well decorated. Very helpful and friendly staff. The food was okay. It was nothing I'd go back for. Everything was served Luke warm. A person in our party got the wrong food. When we told the waiter when he came to check on us, he offered to change it, but it was already 10 minutes since they delivered it so that he only kept what he had. My crab cakes hardly had crabs and I think they were the smallest crab cakes I ever had in a restaurant. They were also not very tasteful, at $22 for 2 sand dollar size crab cakes I don't think I would try them again. I would say the same for the crab chef at the market price, probably wouldn't order it again. The key cake, the crust was granular and soggy and there was a movie over the top of the cake as he sat too long. The Hushpuppies were small bites, but the whole table loved them. The shrimps and grits were okay. The fried fish was soggy. My husband said the fish tacos were great. Everything else was okay. I would have expected a lot better cake for $8. Overall they had a wonderful location beautiful inside. What seemed to be a great menu. And friendly staff. But they really need to work on the actual preparation and quality of food. It was about $260 for 7 people without cocktails. And some had water. Not terrible, but three were children. And the food should have been excellent.

This is the place to GO!!! We brought our mother to HHI, SC for mother? Day and ended the holiday with this place. And what should I do? This is the best place we ate in Hilton Head during our time. The staff was great and efficient. The server, Debra (I think that was her name, so sorry if it was?t) but she was amazing!!! Very knowledgeable, friendly and patient with our high energy package. The food came so fast and fresh and the place was pretty packed. The food was DELICIOUS and the prices were very fair. We had gone to another high-end seafood place the night before and paid more and the taste was not almost as good. The crab was huge, and my fork slipped through the bowl with ease (boiled to perfection) and the drinks are delicious, my sister and I had **** Marys and they were perfect! This place is wonderful! We had gone to the other Hilton Head location before and while we did love that one as well, this one will now become our favorite. It has a ton of outdoor seating (which is very important to me because I always have at least one dog with me), absolutely stunning views, and just a super cozy (but still ocean themed) ambience. Plus the food is wonderful. My party ordered the seafood boil pot, the chicken Alfredo, gumbo, clam strips, and buffalo dip and truly the only problem was a few of the mussels in our boil couldn't be opened no matter how hard we tried. But otherwise everything was wonderful!
