Long Island Cafe - Clarendon County

I’ve eaten here a few times and it’s been great each time. Amazing seafood! The Parmesan encrusted salmon and white cheddar grits are especially tasty. Update: visited again last night and got the crab encrusted grouper. It was tasty. But, I kept thinking about the salmon. Just get the salmon. You won’t regret it. So far, there are only two restaurants/eateries I have returned to more than three times this year. Long Island Café is one of them, for various reason, the main one the quality of the food. Add to that the friendly, patient and attentive waiting staff, and you have a winner. I had wonderfully prepared pan fried flounder with garlic mash potatoes and cole slaw, and will return again, and again! My partners had calamari and crab stuffed prawns, and they were really happy!

We arrive for dinner with a reservation for 715 at approximately 712 the website informs potential customers that if one is later than 10 minutes the reservation is canceled and one is required to input one’s credit card with the freight of a charge if one does not show up when we arrived there was no table available I stated my displeasure very calmly and just passionately that while we are told we will lose our reservation with a 10 minute delay there is no consequence to the restaurant and th … – show

It was crowded. But still had excellent food and service.

Food service were wonderful. Waitress was very attentive helpful. The desserts were divine. Highly recommend. I knocked off one star for atmosphere just because outdoor seating was on the sidewalk right next to a very busy strip mall parking lot, which wasn't ideal a bit distracting. But I do appreciate that options are limited and it does expand your seating availability.
