Apart from the location on a very picturesque and charming street, the restaurant itself does not hold a great attractiveness. the menu is sparse, with just listing five items that are all seafood is dessert that I had was very bad, and while at the end the court I was good, I had to have them back at the beginning, as it came out sharp and they did not inform me about it when I ordered it. When I asked about a glass of red wine, they said they had no red. that's unheard in italia. the waitress came out a few minutes later and informed us that she had a bottle of chianti, but that we had to buy the whole bottle. the bill was at the end high, but nothing from the ordinary for eating out in ital was only more than what the food and the establishment were worth. at the end it was not bad, just not the highest quality or best service. I would try somewhere else, the place two doors down, instead of wine tasting enoteca much better service, eating and atmosphere.
We had fun with google translate, because the personal spoke no English. the goat cheese pasta was very good and the filet was perfectly cooked.
We spent just one night in Civitavecchia, pre-cruise, and are so glad we were lucky enough to land outside this restaurant. They could give the cruise ships a few lessons about wonderful food! We were able to eat outside and enjoy the gentle evening. The...service was excellent (despite our linguistic challenges) and the menu offered enough choice to accommodate anyone's palate. Wonderful bread, delicious pasta, glorious wine. (not enough vegetables, but I have become accustomed to that in Italy, just be sure to order salad and veg if this matters to you No room for dessert after this meal! A very pleasant, relaxed, and memorable dinner.
The pasta dish with goat cheese, lemon and mint is to die for. Everything else we had was delicious, but you must try that pasta! We stopped in here for dinner while staying overnight in Civitavecchia pre-cruise and chose Arche because of the Tripadvisor reviews....It fully lived up to its reputation. The very friendly owner and staff don't speak much English, but the menu has English descriptions of the selections, so language is not a problem. It's in a little piazza about 5 minutes walk from the waterfront, with a clientele that is mostly local and prices that are more reasonable than the restaurants in the touristy areas around the port entrance.
We traveled to Civitavecchia from Santa Marinella on a day trip, and decided to give this restaurant a try. This was just splendid with wonderful, tasty food and extremely good service. Why this restaurant still does not have a certificate of excellence is a huge...mystery to me. We had such a good meal, that we traveled from Santa Marinella everyday after our first meal, with the sole mission to eat at this restaurant. Cant recommend it enough, it is just wonderful! We are looking forward to our next visit already.
