Sammy's Restaurant Bar - Citrus Heights

I’m rating this restaurant 5 stars for its service and ambiance. While the food was enjoyable, I found it a bit overpriced. I noticed several reviews highlighting their server Tommy, and we were lucky enough to have him as our server. He certainly lived up to the praise! My husband, who rarely tips 20%, ended up giving Tommy a 30% tip. Definitely worth a visit!

As for the food, it was disappointing. I ordered the roasted duck wonton soup, but to my surprise, there was no roasted duck in it at all, which I found quite frustrating, especially given the price. The service, however, was good; our server was very nice and accommodating. For appetizers, I tried the truffle fries and sweet chicken wings. They were decent but lacked any special sauce to enhance the flavors. The beef Mongolian, which I didn’t get a photo of, looked appealing and was served with marinated boneless short ribs. Overall, I’m not sure if I’d return. The food was just mediocre, and while I might have chosen poorly, I doubt I would choose to come back.

Great food, tasty beer, and a pleasant atmosphere, but the service was a bit lackluster. The bartender didn't even provide a coaster for my beer, and Marie hardly acknowledged my presence. However, the food was fantastic, and I definitely recommend trying the truffle fries!

We dined in the restaurant's main area and were promptly greeted and served. A nice touch was the San Pellegrino served in a glass bottle. I understand the strategy to encourage dining while gambling by offering a substantial discount (I think around 35%) for those who choose that option. However, I would recommend either increasing prices slightly to use higher-quality ingredients or lowering them and dropping the 'farm-fresh local high quality' appeal. For instance, the Mongolian beef bowl was decent, but at $30 after tax and tip, the meat should be more substantial rather than small, thin, and tough.

I just love the way the orange juice taste it taste so delicious so healthy for me. Also like to order small fries with ketchup on the side as enjoy dipping my fries and catch up.
