The food was good. The pretzel bread grilled cheese was a pretzel bun turned inside out so it was a bit small. The fries were good. It is a noisy, busy place, but we didn't mind.
We found this by default while trying to avoid Steak house bankruptcy ! Turned out to be a great find. Casual, not too noisy even though the Cubs were playing. Good prices and so many options for everyone ! Lettuce wraps with Chicken better than others and plenty to share if appetizer. Firehouse Chili above others , great burger on buttered roll and a stacked Reuben. The only disappointment was they ran out of Bread Pudding my absolute reason to go here when I saw it on the Menu it was a no brainer! However Mike our Server came through with the Chocolate Chip deep dish ! Great service unique setting lots of old Chicago photos ! If we ever return to the city it will be a repeat! Thank you for a pleasant enjoyable meal for 2 Appetizer, Entree and a shared dessert for $70. The Best !
We were downtown for the day on a Saturday and ending at Millennium Park. Rudy's is a short walk and easy to find. From Maggie Daley park at 7pm I used Open Table and made a reservation for 5 8pm. Our party consisted on 3 adults, one thirteen year old boy and one 11 year old boy. We left the park at 7:35pm and walking we arrived at 7:50pm. Our table was ready and waiting for us. The place is small and was full. At first I felt a little claustrophobic, but once seated I found that I had adequate room. Our server was attentive and quick. I didn't feel like we waited long for service, attention or for our food to arrive once ordered. Three of us had burgers and really enjoyed them, a lot, they were so good! I had the coleslaw for my side and it too was really good. My burger came with a homemade pickle that was pretty amazing in both size and taste (i'm not really a pickle fan, but I loved this one! . The other two in our party had the pastrami sandwiches and enjoyed those as well. The bill was around $112 for 5 meals, 3 sodas and two drinks from the bar. I would DEFINITELY go back and recommend to my friends and family.
Nice casual lunch spot with decent prices and good food. Service today was very attentive, as always, though the food took a bit long to come out of the kitchen.
