Moody's - Chicago

I definitely recommend coming here. I had met a friend, after not seeing them for almost 20 years and Moody's was actually a really good spot for it. When entering the bar, it has a very rustic and old vibe to the place. Very comfortable; however we sat outside. The patio is very open, with trees and umbrella's to help cover you from the sun, of course there are some spots where the sun can beat down on you but over all not too overbearing. They have string lights outside that offer just enough light to carry on a conversation but also give a great ambience to keep things interesting. Our server was excellent, I feel bad I don't remember her name, but out of wanting to make sure she knows I'm talking about her, she is an Asian Woman, very nice and personable and paid attention to our empty glasses and our order. So thank you for the excellent service. The Food we received was also excellent, hot and much more than I was expecting. So kudos to the Kitchen staff for their expertise/Kraft. The only thing that kept me from giving the full 5 stars was the drinks list. Not a huge amount of beers to choose from and the cocktail list could be bigger as well? Maybe something to think about. Never had a bad time or meal at Moody's. We bring our family mainly during the summer for burgers and to sit outside in the courtyard nut also enjoy their delicious burgers during the winter indoors as well. Such an iconic place!Food: 5/5

It's a nice spot to chill in the summer on the patio. I've never sat inside, so can't comment. I've only had fried and onion rings as far as food, but both are really good.Food: 4/5

Best beer garden! Very roomy lots of trees. It's like a party in the woods without the mosquitoes. Burgers, sloppy joes, salad, this place is a neighborhood gem. Nothing fancy, not trendy, just a wonderfully relaxing place.Vegetarian options: They have a good salad. Nothing fancy, but very fresh.Parking: The share a lot with the bank next door. Street parking in front is metered. Free street parking within 1/2 block.

We had an awful experience at this place today. I called beforehand to confirm they allowed dogs in the patio area, and they assured me it was fine. But when we arrived, they suddenly said dogs weren't allowed. I showed them the call record on my phone, but they denied receiving any call for all day and accused me of lying. When I showed them the call record on my phone, they said that is not their number. but later admitted it is their number, they just couldnt see at first. In addition, when I mentioned my dog was a psychiatric service animal, (which normally I prefer not to mention) they said they cant accept it since this is not service dog since I am not blind. I was in shock to hear this. We promptly left the pub. Overall, it was a truly horrible experience.
