Gale Street Inn Chicago

I used to work at Elly’s a few blocks down the street, and I always remember the servers mentioning that Gales has fantastic food! So I always wanted to try them out. Well, yesterday, my husband and I were celebrating our anniversary, but due to the cold weather we decided not to go out; instead, we agreed on ordering carry out. We ordered ribs, soup, and different sides; our food was fresh, well-cooked, and delicious!!! Also, our order was well packed and prepared. I highly recommend GSIC.

I moved to the neighborhood two years ago, and everyone recommended that we eat here. Their only mistake was not emphasizing how great this place is because I should've been eating here more often. Both times I've gone, the food has been so delicious. I had the steak sandwich with gruyere and caramelized onions, and it was one of the best sandwiches I've eaten in a while. Also, the macaroni and cheese is so good, and I need to figure out if they sell it by the pan for parties

So I went to gale street Inn a bit ago. Took me a bit to write this because I kept getting emotional typing this. My grandma had passed away and so I drove 20 hours from DC to Chicago to go to her funeral. It’s funny she always took me here growing up. Every visit it was our thing. I always cherished it because it was never a disappointment and got to spend time with her. It only felt fitting I go for her funeral. The problem was, Gordon Lightfoot was headlining so the place was booked out. I was devastated and begged my family to at least try by showing up. I was greeted by a bouncer. Asked how many for my party and I said 5. I told him jokingly “drove all the way from DC to get here” and he seemed pleasantly entertained someone would take such an effort to get there. He let me know they didn’t have anything available and I kindly let him know how important it was since we lost my grandmother and asked what we needed to do to get seated. Just speaking with him, he was so understanding and told us he’d take care of us. He managed to get us at a table and incredible service. I could tell it meant the world to my dad as well as he lost his mom. As I left I couldn’t help but thank the staff for their hospitality and cannot stress enough how wonderful this place has meant to me over the years. As if this place wasn’t already high in my book this is night I won’t forget for sure. Thank you so much for everything. Meant the world to my family. RIP grandma

Fantastic vibes and food! The ribs speak for themselves! The owner is also super cool and friendly. Will be back!

We enjoyed celebrating my recent birthday(Dec 12th) at GSI(Jeff Pk)…There is no better place we would rather be…Have been coming to GSI for a long time —enjoyed EVERY visit….GREAT service, DELICIOUS food along with the PLEASANT atmosphere(bar area booth)….Thanks to George and Oscar for making this day special! We will be back soon for one of our favorites —London Broil!
