Local 343 - Charlottetown

For the past two years we've enjoyed eating at this delightful restaurant in an old house in the historic area of Charlottetown. The food is creatively prepared and the service is warm and friendly - things we value in a dining experience. We both had their seafood chowder but have also had mussels in the past. Good beer.

This was recommended by a friend to try so we stopped by for dinner and we fell in love with it. We sat on the patio out back and felt like we were in a friends back deck, cosy seating and trees for shade. Brad our server was quick to provide a review of the specials and run through the menu and although it was tough choice to pick just one, I ordered the crab cakes and salade and my husband ordered the mussels in a cocnut curry sauce. Our meals were very well presented and tasted amazing. Both dishes were fresh and we loved every bite. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and I highly recommend giving this quaint restaurant a try for either lunch or dinner and enjoy.

Best place we have eaten on PEI. Really loved the potatoes, crab cakes and soup. Very fresh and nice patio out back.

Many visitors to PEI come for the Lobster and Oysters, but the local Crab caught on the south shore of the island is delicious! Local 343 served up this tasty treat in the form of Crab Cakes. The Red Rock Crab, from the waters surrounding Belle River PEI, is mixed with chopped red peppers and interesting array of seasoning along with a delectable and spicy seafood sauce and a generous fresh salad. You can enjoy your meal on a shaded out door deck or Upstairs in the evening while listening to local musicians--no cover charge!So if you are in the mood for trying local Crab, this is the place to go to.

This restaurant is very unassuming on the outside, but a little gem on the inside! We had lunch and dinner there during our stay in Charlottetown. We decided to go back for a second time because this is one of the few restaurants that offers great salads that are a bit more original than your average Caesar salad. They have a nice backyard patio also if you prefer to eat outside. The staff is attentive. Food is very good and excellent value for money, as portion sizes are large. Much larger than on the photos!Easily one of the very best restaurants in Charlottetown!
