I have always savored the tasty meals served there. Margaret and her team are consistently hospitable, kind, and welcoming, embodying the finest hospitality that County Mayo has to offer. The dishes are always freshly prepared and beautifully presented. I believe it offers excellent value for the price, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to all those visiting Knock. Sincerely, Joseph Doyle.
We arrived just before staff were about to close. We were welcomed and we quickly ordered. We made it very simple and checked to see if the order was not too much trouble. Food was very tasty and enjoyable. We appreciate that we got fed and will be back again next year.
This restaurant is situated at the end of the main street near the Bus Eireann bus stop. Typically, I prefer to eat closer to the shrine, but last Sunday was particularly crowded in Knock, so all the cafes had long lines. The 4D's restaurant was also quite busy, but I managed to find a seat at a table with two other people. The waitress was pleasant, friendly, and managing the large crowds efficiently. I ordered a chicken salad sandwich and a pot of tea, which was served promptly. However, I found the sandwich to be average in taste.
We ate dinner here and the staff were very friendly. Our daily special of lasagne, salad and chips was just what we needed. We could have had a glass of wine but there was no beer on offer.
We ordered 2 lasagnes which was the special offer of the day. Unfortunately, they only had one left, so we ordered the other dish of the day ham and turkey stuffed with veg. Meal came fairly quickly. The lasagne was nice, I had veg with it. The mash was a bit lumpy but least you know it’s real potatoes, and the sweet corn and peas were a bit dry, the carrots were mashed and were fine. It was a great meal to just refuel. There was a steady trade.
