The restaurant is not huge and we were glad to have got there at about 12 noon. I had the dish of 5 different types of smoked fish on the 3 course menu served with an excellent sauce, a local delicacy and delicious, followed by a small steak served with small roast potatoes and a small salad. The meat was perfect, far better than is normal for a modest menu price and the dish as a whole was excellent. The dessert was apricot tart and very good. The overall price with 2 coffees was 33 euro for 2 peopleThe staff are very friendly , with amusing quotations in the toilet and elsewhere, and we felt very much at home. It is relaxed, packed with locals and no signs of tourists, rapid service of excellent food, and plenty of jokes with the staffFaultless. Can't wait to get back. A new discovery but amongst the best we have discovered.
Lunch menu had interesting and tasty options. Excellent value for money. Excellent prompt and friendly service by the young enterprising owners. Much frequented by locals who work nearby.
This small, seemingly family-run bar/resto is an ideal place for a good, quick lunch. The set menu at 12.50 euros could not be more reasonable and the food was well-prepared and fresh. An ample cold buffet serves as a starter. I had a very delicious cassoulet (too much) and my husband had the special, a grilled l'onglet (flank steak) with shallots and fresh homemade fried potatoes and salad. He finished happily with Ile Flottant (I cannot promise the creme anglais was house-made but it was fine). Service was efficient and rapid, if impersonal, but we understood as there were several groups waiting for seats. We weren't looking for gourmet dining, just a good simple meal and that is what we got.
Typical French bar serving quality lunch at exceptional value. Welcoming, fun, local owners. Near the market and a great place to while away the day with good wine and friendly locals.
The restaurant now opens early Friday evenings in addition to lunch time. My wife and I have now been twice, the second time influenced by the very friendly owner who does front of house. For starters I had the selection of smoked fish served with leaves and beetroot my wife had the terrine accompanied respectively by a glass of Quincy and Cheverny. The starters were both tasty and well presented, not huge portions but absolutely fine for us.We both had magret de canard (from different menus) both with small roast potatoes mine with a vegetables with figs my wife had hers with an orange sauce. We both had a glass of Madiran, better than I few I've tasted in the past. I finished my meal with a coffee. The total price was €35 which I think is great value. This is not a place to go for fine dining but I would recommend it as somewhere to eat.
