New Peking Chinese - Cerritos

The restaurant may not have the most appealing atmosphere, but the food is fresh and delicious.

We have been visiting this restaurant for over 25 years, but ever since the original owner sold it, the quality of the food has steadily declined. Last week was the tipping point for us – the food was so terrible that we had to throw it away. We have enjoyed dining here for the past 25 years, but unfortunately, we will not be returning.

This restaurant is situated in a strip mall, but don't let that deceive you. It serves some of the best Chinese food I've ever had! The dishes aren't overly sweet or spicy like many other Chinese spots, and both the beef and shrimp are cooked to perfection. The chow mein is excellent as well—it's not greasy at all, unlike many other places. The atmosphere is very pleasant; it's quiet and beautifully decorated. If you're in the mood for Chinese food, you should definitely give this place a try. Just a heads up, they're closed on Mondays.

I stopped in to place a to-go order, but I'm still standing at the counter waiting. This is rude and unacceptable. I announced that I wanted to place a to-go order, but no one greeted me or acknowledged my presence. The staff was right in front of me, busy organizing checks. I've been eating here for over 30 years, and the new owners really need to improve their customer service. After giving them enough time, I decided to walk out.

Delicious food! The service was friendly, and the restaurant was very clean.
