This place is the definition of a hidden gem — just a cozy, no-frills spot where you can get some seriously good food. The menu changes regularly and has all the comfort food you’d hope for. The fried fish that the owner suggested was delicious. And the shrimp that they tossed in was an unexpected bonus. Dont’ get me started on the red beans and rice… WOW… It really hit the spot! You can tell they put a lot of love into what they cook, and it tastes just like a home-cooked meal. What made it even better was the friendly, down-to-earth vibe. The staff treated us kindly and the service was quick and easy. It’s the kind of place where you feel welcome the minute you walk in. If you’re looking for a laid-back spot with great food and a warm atmosphere, this is it. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

I’ve gone twice with my parents and Dear Lord this is the best food in Bastrop County. The fried fish, fried okra, green beans, cornbread is my favorite but I’ve tried bites of my parents and EVERYTHING is good. This time we got dessert. Absolutely divine! It’s a very quaint restaurant, family friendly, amazing people. Definitely my new fav place!

The gumbo is exceptionally delicious. The crust on the chicken fried steak is super tasty. The gumbo is better than any restaurant in New Orleans. The owner said they only make it on Fridays. This place is clean.

I will recommend that you stop by at any time, good food, nice environment, and pleasant people with good size portions. Enjoy. Vegetarian options: Many of the side dishes are vegetarian and they also have drinks. Dietary restrictions: You only need to let the owner know about it and they make your order as desired. Parking: Their parking is free, open to any vehicle and easily accessible. Kid-friendliness: Oh boy! This was the part I liked the most since my kids had his disability and they were very caring and natural with them. Wheelchair accessibility: Yes!

We ate lunch here and couldn’t believe how delicious the food tasted!!! Everything we ordered was great from the chicken fried chicken, fish, macaroni, mash potatoes, okra, etc! You will walk away so happy!
