Trattoria Tumminello - Catania

Small cosy restaurant with 4 or 5 tables, where Signora Carmela cooks and her son takes the orders and brings the food and drinks. We were looking for a good place with local food and after checking the reviews here we knew this was what we wanted. Familiar atmosphere, it feels like you are being served by a relative or a friend. We had the aperitivo rustico (caponata and olives were highlights , pasta nero di sepia and pasta alla norma, all very good. The portions were very large. The white house wine was amazing value, it was very good and it only cost us 3 euro for 2 people. Can we please find this type of place in every city we visit? :

Eating here is like going back in time. The atmosphere is unique for many reasons. The Trattoria has kept its old world style from the last generation (or the generation before that! . The chef/owner makes delicious, simple dishes, and is very much in control of what happens with the customers. The food is brilliant, and it is worthwhile coming to trattoria for the whole experience!

The most cozy, unassuming restaurant. Greeted with warmth and made sure we felt a part of their family. Please try the squid ink pasta and have your world changed Nothing on the menu was a let down

Superb food, unpretentious and delicious. Octopus, clams, fried fish, perfection. Definitely stop in if you are in Catania

We had a lovely lunch on Sunday, we found this restaurant by accident. Near the station, very local place. The squid ink spagetti was excellent! And they serviced us some Sicilian dish to try. If you are in Catania, must try. カターニャにまた行く機会があればまた行きます、美味しくて値段も手頃、サービスも満足。簡単な英語も通じます
