Bette's Kitchen - Cape Breton

We drove right by twice as the restaurant/take-out looks like a regular house sitting on the side of the road. I'm glad we persevered as we had one of the best meals of the trip here. The scallops (10) were perfect, lightly battered and fried just to done, not over or under cooked. The fries were a deep golden brown, slightly greasy. The Philly Steak had plentiful meat and was very good. Fast service & meals were served hot. A varied menu at reasonable prices. It is mainly a take-out with a small seating area for approx. 12 people. It closes at 7 pm...they were taking in the open flag when we stopped on our return from NL. Next time I will plan to be one of the first off the ferry so I can go here for scallops!!

Home cooked meals. Friendly ,fast service. Years of experience in the food industry this local family owned restaurant is great for eat in or take out. Large menu with daily specials at reasonable prices.

Great small place, sitting area, great home cooked food. I would recommend you try their fish and chips.

We have had their burger and their homemade fries. They are the most delicious a person can eat. We are all about homemade.

I absolutely love this restaurant! The last time I visited, I ordered the fish and chips - the portion was huge, with perfectly cooked haddock loins. It was absolutely delicious. I've also tried the burgers here and they were amazing. The salads are also generous in size. I highly recommend this cozy spot for lunch or dinner. Just keep in mind that they only accept cash, so be prepared before you go!
