The Deep Blue - Canterbury

I heard about this chip store of mickey clarke on his wake up to money show. When I had ever driven through sandwich, I thought I would make a day of visiting the city and use this chippy in the evening. So I was aware that the chippy was there. it doesn't seem obvious. the load is along the kais with plenty of parking. there are public toilets overloading, but they seem to have early closing times. the load is small with a low deck, but surprisingly I saw a sign for the upper floor seats, but I did not dare the stairs up. the prices were reasonable, I expected higher prices due to the tourist visit. the fish is presented in a box that was a plus. the fish size was ok, but the quality was excellent. the teig is beautiful, crispy still melts in your mouth. the fish is served with the skin that some like. the chips I loved dry and crispy. they do not serve the heavy. the curry sauce is good. I was skeptical that these chips would not be as good as peters in gillingham, but she has surpassed it. this is my best chippy in kent.

Freshly cooked... Great service and really good food, chips were cooked to perfection for us and a full selection of pies meant everyone was happy. Good sized portions so you don't feel over full when you've eaten or waste the food. The takeaway boxes kept our meal warm until we got home and the food was still crisp not soggy! All round a good eat and worth a visit either for a bag of chips on the go or a chippy tea...

Not as good as it used to be, smaller cod and not such nice batter. Still worth visiting though. Just don't expect a bargain take away.

Pretty, everything I had from here was decent. Chip sections are a little small, and sometimes there is a quite waiting, but overall excellent.

We went here for an evening meal at our visit to canterbury, it is not a bad little place could be a bit nasty. eating was very pleasant, they certainly have a good part for their money. the woman went to the toilets and said they were not as brilliant, it is a shame as small things like this left the place. They can sit in the menu or take away with a good choice.
