Bruce Lee & fake stuff are the best things ever to come out of China, you can throw in Yum-Cha as a close third. The Chinese can steal all the secret military technology they want or pump their swimmers with anabolic steroids but we still like em nonetheless only because anyone of them can snap-kick you in the neck & Yum-Cha is pretty good. Some of my impressions were there was a limited dumpling selection, those carts full of the good stuff are too few & far between. We eat with our eyes but saving a few bucks is probably what it comes down to here. The ginger-tofu desert was cut into big chunks in the bowl instead of fine layers which gives you more of a balanced taste. Hot tea, always the first thing you are offered when you are seated in a Chinese restaurant took 30 mins on Mother’s Day. If your dirty plates & steamers didn’t get cleared then you were not alone, it was busy I know but man why would I come back for this. Being given plastic forks & spoons because they ran out….this was the low-point, we all looked at each other & rolled our eyes, you have to laugh. On the positive was the flagrant sticky rice wrapped in banana leaf-unwrapping that steamed leaf bundle is the best part when the infused smell escapes. Pippies in XO sauce is good even if done bad-XO sauce tastes like gravy on a steak only better & of course it is hard to stuff up Yu Choy-Chinese cabbage in oyster sauce, it is so simple yet always pretty damn good wherever you go. Lastly, a Chinese restaurant isn’t a real Chinese restaurant without the fish tanks full of crammed fish, monster crabs & live lobsters, if you have kids you will understand, they can just stare at it all day & leave you in peace.I probably won’t return here freely… I say that now but I’ll probably be back, it’s depressing.

Previously known as Golden Harvest. Our first timers. Today (16/2/2014) we had yum cha for lunch. Service was ok in the beginning. We had 9 dishes. The prawn dumping (Har Gow) was huge, and it was not tasty - lacking ingredients and seasoning, including the pork spare ribs - insufficient ginger and black beans for taste. The pippies was good and plentiful, cold. The BBQ pork bun was just ok. Standard yum cha choices and a few more to choose from. We had better yum cha in Cabramatta and in the CBD, although better yum cha (dim sum) in HK. Trolley service was very slow, we saw more choices when we left at 1pm. It was expensive for 3pp at $65 discount price. The discount on weekdays 20%, 10% on weekends is a gimmick.

At first, I thought the menu was extensive, but then I realized I was only looking at one side. I was pleasantly surprised to find venison and crocodile on the menu, both of which reminded me of chicken.

Flavorsome broth and pho :) But with a lot of competitors around in Cabra, next time I will try another place for a cheaper alternative
