My family are beef farmers and we are accustomed to having the most delicious steaks. The solomillo both of my daughters and I had was perhaps the best steak we have ever eaten in our lives. A-ma-zing! I don't know how many ounces those things were but they were big enough that we should have gotten a t-shirt for finishing it and all 3 of us finished or nearly finished it. It was just too delicious to leave on the plate! My husband's uncle and cousin ordered some other cut of beef that came out on a smoking hot platter nested on a big wood block. Half way through the meal they replaced it with another hot platter to keep the food at the perfect temperature. So so so so good!!! Pictured below is the fish my mother-in-law and her sister ordered which were equally good.
I stopped here today on the way back from Lagos de Covadonga, and had nothing less than a fantastic meal. Pote Asturiano, lomo a la parilla, and had to skip the dessert because I was so full. 16€, drinks and friendly service included. Staff were patient with my poor Spanish, and clearly enjoyed their work. Unlike a previous review the bread I had was fresh and crispy. Delicious strong coffee to finish a great meal. Highly recommend this restaurant.
We stopped off here on our way back from Covadonga. It is a huge place with a large car park , looking at the car park spaces designed for coaches. We weren't sure if they were open as all the chairs were on the tables and no'one else there. The waiter was very friendly and welcomed us to an outside table . He brought out a basket of bread which was very old stale and dry and hard to eat. He gave us a menu which had a lot of choice , however when we came to order he just said we couldn't have it ! It appeared there were only 2 or 3 things we could have both for main course and dessert, As there only appeared to be 3 staff there we thought it was the only thing they could cook. Food when arrived was basic and pretty tasteless . Bought a bottle of red wine to the table even though we ordered white.Desserts were just commercial bought tipped out onto a plate. The best bit was when I asked in Spanish for a tea with some milk, and was brought out a cup of boiling milk with a tea bag in it. I think something was lost in translation !! This was our most expensive meal of our holiday and probably the worst we ate. As we drove further on we found several other restaurants which looked much better , so would recommend driving past and finding somewhere else
Very good attention, any kind of exquisite meat, and the pot asturian a wonder.
One of the sites is definitely referring to the region. We stop coming down from covadonga and a pleasant surprise. both the staff and the quality of the food was excellent.
