Mt. McCloud use to e a beautiful place to have dinner and walk around the grounds for the beautiful sunsets and scenery. Now, since the restaurant closed they are charging $100.00 to go up there for the views. Four years ago my son's first date with his girlfriend he wanted to take her back up there to propose and the only way they would let him up there they have a guard at entrance to mountain) was to charge him $100 for 10 minutes of propose, nothing special but to get on one knee. Unbelievable, for that money they could have had a photographer taking pictures for them, but nothing like that did they offer, $100 for ten minutes of a view. It used to be a nice place to go, so different now.
My husand and I had the pleasure to eat at the restaurant at Mccloud Mountain! They were super accomodating, especially being late at night and asking if any reservations were available. The staff were friendly and genuine, the food was great, the view was amazing, and I can't wait to find some excuse to make it back to Tennessee to go back! I thank everyone that night for giving us such a nice, peaceful, and memorable evening!
It a real treat, with one exception anyone with health issues the walk to the parking lot is steep, the breakfast was as good as it get's we had an omelet 3 or 4 eggs im sure, a large cat head bisket thats better than anything we could remember, the room was like being home with all the amenities very clean nothing cheep about the beding recliners, a really nice walk-in tile shower two secret vanities 1 with warm tile floors
