Zion West African In Wash

The Jelloff rice need more flavor, it do have some taste but it’s not taste like African food. They should send the Jelloff with some tomato sauce flavor so I could mix on it. But it’s not yea what I’m looking for but the rice still good , but it does not taste a nice Jelloff rice. The taste it’s almost there, it’s missing something.

This place was amazing! I was visiting DC for the first time and looked up African cuisine spots to eat at and saw this one. Now as an African myself my expectations were high and this spot exceeded it! 10/10! Fresh hot food, I ordered the Efo riro with chicken, pounded yam and large jollof rice. I also got puff puffs and she made sure to give me fresh ones after asking me to patiently wait for her to finish making a new batch. She was very sweet! My trip next time I will come only here for food!

Ordered moi moi and got a project instead of a prepared meal. The instructions on the back are VERY limited. It doesn’t even tell you how to store the bag. If the moi moi isn’t readily prepared, you need to include that on Postmates. For added clarification: I like to try something new from this restaurant every time I order because most of the dishes are DELICIOUS. I ordered the moi moi after searching it up. I expected a prepared flan sized serving not a pouch that one would find at an international market. Also whoever packed the red stew did not seal the container! The lid doesn’t even fit in the container. Half the stew spilled in the bag. The jollof rice, fish roll, beans, and pounded yam are great as usual. If you get the fish roll, get the spicy sauce too!
