The service was a little slow, even things like lemon took a while to arrive, even though we watched our server pass the table many times. Additionally, used dishes remained on the table, even after a new course had arrived. Now the food, I had scallops and my partner had Halibut (seared). My scallops were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside which is good for me. However my Risotto was unappetizing, it was hard and crunch and the flavor just tasted like salted water. I had to send that back and it was replaced with a Cesar salad, which came DRENCHED in dressing. Next time I would Recommend asking for the dressing on the side, if you don’t want your salad to be soggy by the time it arrives. My partners halibut was tasty, he did however find many small bones in the fillet, so be careful. His side dish was jasmine rice, and it was a disaster. He explained that his rice was so dry with a freezer burn taste, almost like it had been frozen many times and lost its natural flavors. His rice was replaced with a whipped mash potato, which he enjoyed.Dessert options were limited on that night, they only had two options. None of which we were interested in, therefore we went to another establishment for dessert.Overall, we would return to give this establishment a second try. Thank you
Insanely delicious roasted calamari, wonderful half shelled oysters, and good ceviche with homemade chips with spices. And to think I drove to DC in search of some Boba tea and ended up with a happy hour gastronomic feast on a lovely summer evening on their patio.
The premises is warm and cozy. The staff, from the general manager, the chef and the wait staff are amazing and did everything possible to ensure a wonderful, welcoming dining experience. The oysters were plump, fresh and delicious. They even have a Happy Hour offering $1 locally grown oysters.Ophelia's reminds one of a New Orleans bistro. The ravioli was stuffed with crabmeat and finished off with a thermidor sauce that was perfect. The seafood boil was spot on and definitely brought me back to the French Quarter.Don't miss the risotto. It's the bomb!!!
Fried snapper was fabulous. They only had 2 waiters on a Saturday night and it was a little tough finding them but considering the shortage of workers overall in DC, they were really hustling. Food and drinks were fantastic. All four of us had fun.
New to DC and came her by accident. BOY oh BOY!! Ophelia's FAR EXCEEDED my expectations! Caroline was kind and explained the happy hour menu, and the food/wine quality and prices were superb! You've got a new loyal customer!! I needed this TGIF Happy Hour and Ophelia's delivered!! Thanks Caroline and Ophelia's!!
