The room had not been cleaned. There was urine on the toilet seat, and dirty footprints on the floor. A stranger tried to get into our room. When we tried to get a refund, the owner argued with us and hung up on us. Do not stay here.

Very dirty! It needs a significant improvement.The owner seemed nice but I was disappointed.

I hadn't stayed there in a few years. It had always been a diamond in the desert, conveniet to birding and It had been a diamond in the desert while traveling between Arizona and further north. The ownership has changed, and it is very dire need of maintenance. The bathroom had 1/3 roll of toilet paper, the formerly green grass in the inner yard is now just dirt, there was a used tooth pick on the night stand, you need your own HULU password, etc, the internet was very slow, etc.

This used to be a really nice family motel with a nice barbecue in the evening. Rooms and pool were clean and the whole place was maintained. I don't know what happened but on my last stay the rooms were really shabby with worn out everything and worst of all, lots and lots of odd bugs in the room. My bf and I left at midnight when I found a beetle of some type in the bed. We packed up and called the front desk and left a message. I gave two stars because the mgmt. was very apologetic about the rooms and did not give us any trouble about the refund. For the room, cleanliness and maintenance only 1 star.

I'm traveling with my sister and we spontaneously wanted to spend the night in Calipatria before traveling on to San Diego by car. Without looking at the reviews first, we checked into this hotel in the evening. The first impression of the room was okay, but the light was so bad that you couldn't see much. Suddenly we saw a lot of crickets on the floor that were still half moving. the bathroom was dirty and had lots of dead and alive spiders and flies. There were blood stains and otherwise indefinable stains on the bed linen. the sofa was so dirty too! It was terrible and it looked like the room hadn't been cleaned in a long time. We then complained to the owner, who gave us another room. it was just as dirty and horrible as the first! There were even crickets on the bed under the pillow and the fridge was so full of dirt and grease stains. We went to the owner and informed him that we cannot spend a single night here! He didn't want to give us the money back and pointed to a certificate and said he had awards. We then went to a motel in El Centro and were just happy to get out of this place and hotel. It was like a horror movie!
