Tropical - Calgary

I had the $2.50 taco specials, one bean, one beef. They were so good I ordered two more with my favourite Mexican beer, Sol. Wait staff and food is excellent, the ambience is that of a sports bar, with two huge TVs and Spanish music playing loudly over top. I'll be back to try some other interesting menu items but will sit closer to the door. Outside is a bit noisy w/ the traffic from 17th/14th St.

We started out here at Tropical 17 ave, Calgary...I tried all seven taco's the fish one the bean one and the steak ones were the best to me out of the 7, only $2.50 each Taco Tuesday...pretty good... they needed more dressing like salad tomato etc...

Went here on a Friday night while visiting friends in Calgary. It was busy so we were glad that we had made reservations for a late dinner.I ordered their pina colada...which was very pricey at $12 and it was in a rather tall but skinny glass. However, it was very good! I also ordered the chicken tacos (made with corn tortillas), which were also pricey at 3 for $14 and didn't come with any sides, unlike at other places where they serve you rice and beans. That being said, they were also delicious!We were there late enough that it turned into a nightclub. They played awesome Latin music (bachata, salsa, reggeaton, etc) on a big screen tv. We had a blast dancing, even if the dance space was tight.Since we were a party of 4, we ended up getting 1litre pitchers of mixed drinks such as mojitos for $38/pitcher. It was cheaper than getting individual cocktails. The mojitos were so good, we ordered more pitchers.It was a fun night and we enjoyed our supper, but it's still very overpriced.

This was my first time at Tropical Latin Street Food. The food was unbelievable, so tasty, full of flavour, great portions. The atmosphere is fantastic, the service was very nice. I can't stop thinking about how amazing the food was. I would eat here everyday and be in heaven. Go eat here and bring everyone you know... lastly, I lived in Mexico for six months - this was the best Latin food I've ever had in my life, right here in Calgary.

Went on a Friday night, great music, Colombian ceviche was amazing, Latin staff incredible and friendly service great, ended up coming back for sat night dancing and pitchers of sangria! Would definitely recommend
