Popeye’s Chicken - Calgary

The best chicken tenders, high quality great portion and the biscuit is always fresh, there junior chicken burger with cajun was tasty overall I was happy with the whole order and the place!

The place was lined up to the door and I thought we would be waiting forever but the line actually moves quite quickly.  The restaurant feels extra packed because there is both patrons eating in and lots of individuals waiting for their takeout. The layout of the restaurant could definitely have been a lot better. <br/ <br/ The fried chicken is consistent and tasty (but who doesn 't like fried chicken) Definitely better than KFC which I find gets salty by the end of the second piece of chicken. <br/ <br/ The order of large fries is definitely large whereas the large mac and cheese is small.  As well, if the color didn 't give it away, the taste definitely will as the cheese did not taste 'real ' in anyway. <br/ <br/ The biscuits we were missing the maple honey which we had received when we ordered in the States, which was disappointing. <br/ <br/ <br/

So I tried Popeye's today and we'll yummy! Got the 2 piece meal with mac and cheese. 5 piece tenders with fries and the 3 oz popcorn shrimp. The crunchiness and juiciness of the chicken wow! I'm a white meat gal it was amazing! The shrimp were decent. I will be back, my only complaint is the mac and cheese it's bland, but with all the other options you will find one that suits you.

Very steady dinner rush nd the servuce was quite fast. The place sits aboyr 25 people inside and about 25 people outside if the weather permits. Lots of take out , food was fresh and service was friendly. Lots of variety in portion sizes. Add on items are a good size to share and would go back again.

The chicken is less greasy than KFC. I preferred the spicy over the original as it has a nice kick. The Cajun fries are nicely seasoned and crispy. The gravy is different but I like it as it's not as heavy. Hubby tried the rice and beans and said it was good. I would pass on the biscuits though . They have an odd fake buttery taste that's quite off putting to me. The place is small; probably about 5-6 tables and lu da awkward if there's a line forming. This location does not have a drive through. The lines can be long but it does go fairly quick.
