Viet'food cairns

We went into town with no specific destination for dinner and came across Viet's Food Cairns. It looked clean and new and we hadn't had Vietnamese food for ages so we decided to give it a go. I'm so glad we did. From the moment we walked in, we were made to feel welcome and it was clear that providing a quality experience was important. They've only been open for 5 weeks, so everything is still shiny which is nice but the real story is the food. Genuine Vietnamese food, beautifully prepared and presented and excellent prices. If I had to complain about anything, I simply couldn't finish my meal despite it being absolutely delicious. If you order a salad bowl, don't have an entree. The serves are very generous. If Cairns had more places like this, it'd be a far nicer place to eat out. I don't want trendy overworked meals with overworked prices. I want good honest food well prepared and that's exactly what I got. Go back factor: Very high.

Sadly, this wonderful restaurant closed down more than a year ago. It has been replaced by a generic Chinese restaurant which has no appeal. I haven't eaten there and have no inclination to do so.
