I was recently diagnosed as a diabetic, so I must be selective with what I have chosen to eat now. I chose one of the Redfish options with crab meat, but asked them to replace a sweet potato for pasta. they did, but they calculated a surcharge for this. the fish came also with mixed vegetables with a sauce that was only ok. I ate the salat of my wife, who was pitiful: a small green (and brown) salate, which was sprinkled with carrots and nothing else. I separated all brown pieces of salat and left them on my sauce. my wife had the sirloin and asked for the sauce on the side. it was delivered with the sauce on the steak. the steak had no great taste with the sauce. the only really good part of this experience was that we saw friends we had not seen in a few years. if they are in the opposite, my recommendation is to look elsewhere.
When I heard we’d try Monte’s for the first time, I carefully studied the mouth-watering online photos of their menu fare. So my expectations were running high with anticipation. But their REAL menu — which is NOT POSTED outside their front door — will reveal a much smaller selection of dishes in reality. My friend ordered a simple steak, baked potato, and a serving of mixed vegetables. The price was 44 for this three-item plate. A small salad was included: The salad consisted of two ingredients: a handful of iceberg lettuce and one teaspoon of diced carrot. The first three salad dressings I requested were not available. The house dressing is Thousand Island with a touch of red pepper. Very little choice for your plain few bites of lettuce. We arrived at 5 PM, the opening time for dinner. I had to ask the one-and-only waitress to turn on the heat, after all it’s cold in February! The menu says tea is available, either hot or cold, but HOT means that lunchtime’s leftover tea is warmed up in the microwave. The steak was served drowned in a thick sauce which would have been better served in a small dish on the side so the consumer could have decided for himself how much sauce to pour over his steak. As for decor — I did not see any whatsoever. The small dining area has a picture or two of a flower on the wall. — but there is no theme, no charm, nothing at all interesting TO LOOK AT in this restaurant.
Wish I didn't have to give a star. First let's talk about lightning, dark outside and inside. Place was empty except one other couple . Table setting white paper on top of actual table cloth . Photo of it showing they might aswell take them off. Gross! Food was disappointing. High priced fried food. Fried chicken breast actually chicken tenders) think goodness I'm not allergic to seafood , I'm pretty sure the fish , chicken , shrimp and crawfish is all fried together. Menu is small meaning not many choices). All and all save your money and go to a real steak house . Good thing we decided place looked dated to try the steak at those prices. Glad we did. Just wish we kept driving and picked somewhere else!
Yuck! Don’t get the seafood pasta. A frozen TV dinner would have been better. The crawfish bisque was edible. The place could have been cleaner. The waitress was very good.
The restaurant strikes me as unclean and it had an odor. It is severely outdated. Reminded me of the diner furniture on “Happy Days”. I will never go back to this place. The ribeye was totally not what was described. Go elsewhere or keep your money in your pocket. Looks good on the outside, but is an absolute dump on the inside.
