I was heading to Ramiseto where I'd be visiting my mourning relatives. By happenstance I was in Italy, when my 99 year old great aunt passed. I traveled from Milan to Emilia that evening and was going to be staying at my favorite B&B Flowers B&B di Varnia Tronconi, Ramiseto RE . It was too early to go to bed and I was hungry. Along the road I noticed and decided to stop at Osteria il Fortino. Entering, I was warmly greeted, seated and promptly served my menu, grisini bread sticks . Because I didn't want to make an evening of it I only wanted an antipasto, which was mixed deli meats, frittata and gnocchi fritte Deep fried dough usually squares . My only other dish that night was Tagliatelle con Ragu`. Pasta was definitely homemade. All-in-all it was a pleasant experience for a weary foreigner.
In the middle of nowhere between Busana and Castelnovo, and around 4 pm, we were all very hungry. We found this Osteria and they accepted to serve us something simple. Great large tagliatelle with wild mushrooms and others with tomato sauce, all with White House wine. The waitress a beautiful Italian spoke average French and the cook Naima was great in preparing and serving us with wonderful pasta. After the pasta Naima proposed fried bread which we accepted. We got those delicious fried breads with a great local cheese platter. I wish this restaurant was down the road from my house.
Il suggerimento del prof. Ferroni si è rivelato alquanto azzeccato: ottima qualità delle pietanze (da provare il tris di tortelli, abbondanti e fatti in casa), cortesia e simpatia dei gestori, prezzo giusto. Da associare all'escursione della Pietra di Bismantova o da consigliare a chi si mette in viaggio verso il Passo del Cerreto
