Two bar micro brewery pub with large outdoor space. Serves home brew beers (about 4 on at my visit) alongside a really wide range of guest beers in cans and some on tap. I sampled the gold, mild and Chaucer. Gold had a sweet note throughout, with a light mouth feel, good nutty colour. Mild was markedly stronger than typical. Heavier chocolate notes as a result. Elements of a porter style, with the slightly more bitter edge. Chaucer is, I think, the house bitter. Decent session ale, quite light in style, hoppy elements. All three were lightly carbonated, less so than normal, I’d say. Friendly staff. Comfortable pub. Not messed about with.
