Then I ordered scallops appetizer and mentioned at least a half dozen times that I don’t eat cheese. And there it was .. with cheese all over it. Frustrated, I just asked for the check and was surprised to see they added the scallops, and a premium service charge. In effect, I paid $40 for what was a disappointing experience.
I had the tasting menu with wine pairing. The food is decent and the wine pairing was excellent. But service was not great they did not explain the different dishes to me and I had to ask 3x what the catch of the day was and what the imagination course today will be. They are also totally inflexible with making any adjustments to dietary restrictions or allergies. Also, serving sorbet for the desert after a supposedly grand meal is very disappointing, its show they are making no effort. When paying this price, I have to compare it to similar priced places like Aramburu and it 's not even close, Aramburu is an experience while Crizia was just a safe and decent meal. Few other faults: too much dark meat in my white fish. Also, I had a table near front entrance and it was annoying to watch the hostess playing on her phone the ENTIRE time while guests had to knock multiple times until she opened the front door (I had to knock on door for 2 minutes before someone finally let me in). Also, the sommelier rubbing the inner thigh of the hostess through out the night, 8ft from my table is not what I expect at a fine dining establishment. With that said, I loved the ambiance and they had one of the most beautiful wine cellers I have ever seen (I took a tour of it after my dinner). I also appreciated that the appropriate wine glass was used for every serving of wine.
Service is good but food is mediocre. I liked the atmosphere and that’s pretty much it. It felt like a tourist trap for Americans. For this price, there are much better places in BA.
Best restaurant we ate at in Buenos Aires! Fantastic service, menu, presentation and waitstaff in a swanky atmosphere. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough, YOU MUST GO!!
Superb, modern romantic spot tucked away in Belgrano. One of the best service staff we’ve had to date in Buenos Aires. The menu is fairly deep, and the plates are very well done. Oyster bar is a plus. We walked in on a Friday evening at 21:15 without reservations and got lucky with a few open seats at the bar (zero tables available else wise for the night). Dry grey goose martini was spot on. We ordered the langostinos to kick off, and the Mrs ordered cheesy rice while I went with the lamb. None of the 3 failed to provide a party in our mouth all were fantastic. We finished off with a enormous créeme brûlée, with a dollop of ice cream and a few paper thin slices of caramelizada apples. Apart from these that we ordered, the bartender delivered a cold potato and cauliflower appetizer, two warm chunks of quite frankly the best corn bread I’ve had in at least two decades, a bread pallet, and wrapped up the experience with a pair of mini macaroons and a set of dark chocolate treats set on a cold stone. Quite the unique experience, all very economical. We shall definitely be returning!
