The former Brazilian owners named the coffee house in Portuguese and the name remained after so many years, 75 to be precise. Not only was the place known for the coffee as a drink but in the form of beans/powder; the containers from the time can still be seen and most beans are indeed Brazilian. Empanadas, pastries, alfajores, cookies and other nibbles are there to go with coffee and other hot drinks. Service is attentive and prices are fair, the location is also a plus!
This is well known cafeteria for local people because the quality of coffee is excellent and the cookies called Palmeritas are delicious !! when you are downtown, near Tribunales, you must have a coffee there ! also waiters are nice and also you can have a quick coffee at the counter
Only stopped here for coffee and orange juice food we saw didn’t look that inviting but we weren’t exactly spoilt for choice with regard to places that were open on a Sunday. Coffee with milk (BRL46 each) was OK. Not sure how freshly squeezed the orange juice was as it came out of a large jug but it was also fine. Large orange juices were BRL82 each. Service was fair only.
A traditional coffee place in one of Buenos Aires main streets, its a good place to catch up and have a coffee (as most of the locals do) but since we were in the area and looking for a place to sit down and eat (besides a pizzeria), we decided to give it a try and lunch here. It was simply a disaster. The waiter was clearly not used to take lunch orders so he did a mess, mixing all the side dishes and bring it everything wrong. We got the beverages at the beginning but it took ages to get the main courses and we were almost begging for the food. Quality wise was very average and at the end we were really disappointed with the place. For a coffee yes, for a meal a big NO NO...
