We had avocado toast, fried eggs with bacon and toast with fried eggs. We also had vegan pain au chocolat and a vegan croissant, which were absolutely aaaaammmaazing!! We also enjoyed fresh ginger tea and orange juice.
Had a tasty avocado on toast with seaweed and tomatoes was nice. Cramped and overpriced but overall a nice place to eat if you're running out of options
We visited different Le Pain Quotidien restaurants when on holiday in Belgium. They are always in very central touristic places and offer some great vegan options. For coffee/tea time, I really loved the “Chocolate Delice” cake, but didn’t like the berry muffin too much (too dry). For breakfast, the avocado toast is good, granola is good but a small portion, or you could just have bread (e.g. cranberry and nuts flute) with sweet spreads/jam (the “Noir” chocolate spread is sooo good – the spreads are on the tables but there are different ones. If you don’t find this on your table, it is worth checking out the spreads on other tables or asking for it). I was with a non vegan friend and sharing the “Le Pain Quotidien” breakfast (where she ate the non vegan Pain au chocolat and I ordered an additional soy cappuccino) was great value you could probably replace the Pain au chocolate with more baguette/bread . For lunch/dinner they also have salads/soups/bowls and dishes like that. Although Le Pain Quotidien is a chain restaurant, there’s a good and cosy atmosphere.
I think it's a good place to have breakfast (expensive though) as you can have rice oatmeal, chia puddings, fruit bowls, bread with different kinds of spread, avocado toast, hummus toast, turmeric soya latte, among other things... the dark chocolate spread that they have is really great! I can recommend it but the service can get really slow if the place is full, which happens very often since it is inside one of the main touristic attractions in Brüssels. I didn't have any salad or lunch/brunch food but the breakfast stuff is great!
On a holiday where every veg restaurant was closed I tried this place and it was all good. It's not a veg restaurant so the options are very limited but everything I tried was good. The service was also very good, might be a little bit slow since it's usually a busy place. No complains. Updated from previous review on 2017-01-04
