The prices are very affordable and the omelettes are generous enough to keep you satisfied until lunch. The Turkish tea and coffee are also excellent.
The food at this restaurant is excellent. I highly recommend trying the traditional Uyghur dish, Laghman (hand-stretched noodles). It is the best I have tasted in New York! Legend has it that Marco Polo was so impressed by this dish that he brought it back to Italy, which later evolved into Spaghetti. The prices are reasonable and the portions are generous.
The portion sizes at this restaurant do not match the prices. The food was average and not particularly special, especially considering there is a smaller Turkish restaurant in the same area that serves amazing Turkish food at a lower price. As another reviewer mentioned, it seems like you are mainly paying for the atmosphere. I initially sat in their outdoor seating area when I first visited, but opted for takeout the second time I ordered.
The location is great, especially on a sunny day. Very cool atmosphere sit in their outdoor area, people watch, slip on coffee and have some desert. The service is a little slow, but maybe it was a lazy Sunday afternoon.
The Turkish Masal restaurant is a really good idea. A very extensive menu with both Turkish and American options. The dining room is very spacious and very clean. Like the last time, I was tempted by chicken soup and Vegetarian Kumpir. This is a big oven baked potato stuffed with vegetables. Really very tasty. In my opinion this restaurant is recommendable. Of course, as in all of New York, proof of vaccination must be provided.
